Vacant properties are vulnerable
Whether you have one or a portfolio of properties you know that they are more vulnerable when they are empty. When no-one is there on a regular basis problems begin.
Vacant property inspections help to address this problem. Liveried guards visit the property regularly, giving a visible presence and they monitor and check those things which matter most.
What does a Vacant Property Inspection offer?
Trained, vetted, uniformed mobile patrol officers, travelling in Foremost Security liveried vans, visit the property with an agreed upon frequency. They undertake a range of services depending on your specific requirements and upon what they find when they get there.
Their visits are recorded using mobile technology. This includes photos where needed to show what was found or meter readings etc if required. You receive reports to an agreed schedule and we review the situation with you periodically to ensure that the services being used are the most suitable.
These visits identify issues before they become major problems. They provide a visible presence and deterent. They enable you to leave the property empty in the secure knowledge that it is being monitored and protected. This inspection service complies with standard insurance company requirements and meets the needs of landlords.

More than just checking for broken windows
Every vacant property is different and businesses have different inspection requirements for each property. The following lists some of those things we have been asked to check when doing property inspections. Some are for every visit others occasionally and others are seldom required. While we always check those things on the inspection schedule our patrol officers will also report anything else they see out of the ordinary which isn’t on the to-do list.
Visible damage to the building or perimeter
Signs of deterioration
Unwelcome guests of any kind, human or otherwise
Taking meter readings
Evidence of fly-tipping
Gas and water leaks
Signs of forced entry or damage
Signs of squatters
Unauthorised vehicles on site
Blocked drains / damaged gutters
Cost effective security
Vacant property inspections are, by design, less frequent than mobile security patrols. This keeps the cost down yet provides the level of security you and possibly your insurance company or landlord require.
Deterrance of potential criminals
Opportunistic criminals are deterred by clear signs of security activity on a vacant property. They prefer to target those properties which are clearly not monitored or protected. The Foremost Security signage, the regular presence of a liveried guard and vehicle is often enough to send them looking elsewehere for an easy target. Remember you don’t have to outrun the bear in the woods – you just have to be faster than the other person you are with!
Effective random inspection times
Predicting when someone will target a business premises is impossible. To ensure your business property is as safe as possible, our inspection visits can be at random times but specifically targeting those periods when crime is most likely.
Peace of mind
The knowledge that your property is being inspected to a schedule you have specified with the services performed that you have chosen.
